WALK LIKE AN EGYPTIAN

Let me take the hassle out of your trip to Luxor. I was born at the Valley of the Kings in a small village called El Qrna, and I would like to show you Luxor from the Egyptian way. I have been working with tourists for nearly 15 years on the West Bank of Luxor.

Three Months with Ashraf
A person who is a whole lot more than you first appear....
Sensitive and shy, you see the facade in all, and the truth with the eyes of a seer.
Here to guide those of us looking to know and understand your world.
Rarely without a joke, laughter, or smile to be found....
Always living with heart, not mind, for those you surround.
Family is first, but who does that mean?

...It was all of us that you embraced as family, as though we'd always been.

Thankyou Riana

We were a Spanish mother and daughter travelling alone to Egypt. We wanted to see temples, pyramids and know the history of Ancient Egypt, and how Egyptian people live today, too. We met Ashraf in Luxor and he helped us to visit many sites, organizing very well our 3 days in Luxor. We enjoyed very much visiting the temples of Abydos and Dendara, Luxor and Karnak temples, riding camels, etc. Ashraf is a very good and honest guide, and he become a good friend, too. We got to know how an Egyptian family lives and he explained to us many things that you cannot find with guides. He also accompanied us shopping in the souq and helped us to fix the prices with the sellers and taxis, too.
If you go to Luxor, I recommend sincerely to contact Ashraf, who will help you to travel the way you like, and I’m sure you will enjoy very much your time with him, and all without spending too much money.
Thank you very much, Ashraf, for those marvellous days we spent with you in Luxor. I hope to visit you next time we go to Egypt.

Luxor Temple

The temple of Luxor is close to the Nile and parallel with the riverbank. King Amenhotep III who reigned 1390-53 BC built this beautiful temple and dedicated it to Amon-Re, king of the gods, his consort Mut, and their son Khons.
Temples of Karnak

In ancient Egypt, the power of the god Amun of Thebes gradually increased during the early New Kingdom, and after the short persecution led by Akhenaten, it rose to its apex. In the reign of Ramesses III, more than two thirds of the property owned by the temples belonged to Amun, evidenced by the stupendous buildings at Karnak. Although badly ruined, no site in Egypt is more impressive than Karnak. It is the largest temple complex ever built by man, and represents the combined achievement of many generations of ancient builders. The Temple of Karnak is actually three main temples, smaller enclosed temples, and several outer temples located about three kilometers north of Luxor, Egypt situated on 100 ha (247 acres) of land. Karnak is actually the sites modern name. Its ancient name was Ipet-isut, meaning "The Most Select (or Sacred) of Places".

Things to do in West Bank Luxor:
